Individual Named Home versus Generic Named Location? Weighing up the pros and cons…. and making an informed price comparison of the two options. Generic homes have set prices - individual homes all vary.
√ Generic Homes - The main benefits:-
There is no problem in booking a generic (typical) home on a named location basis - it is very straightforward – after all, in many cases but not all, they will be a collection of the very same homes that can be booked individually. However, not all property owners agree to allow their properties into a rental pool in this way and they can only be booked on an individual basis. On the other hand some property owners do not market their homes at all – they just leave it in the hands of the management agent - and subsequently these homes can only be booked through a rental pool.
√ AVAILABILITY of properties may sometimes dictate that to secure a booking at a specific location the only way is through booking a property in a rental pool.
√ A LOWER RENTAL PRICE is usually the main benefit and with it comes the guarantee of a type of property at a named location -and just like booking a rental car if the exact type of property is not available you will be provided with a free upgrade.
However you must accept when booking a generic property you will not be able to see any photographs – other than of a typical property – nor the specification prior to your arrival. The property management agent will ultimately decide which booking goes where and this may not be done until very close to the arrival date – this arrangement gives them the flexibility to move bookings around in order to maximise the overall bookings.
Also, when booking a generic home you cannot ascertain the property layout or feature detail in advance of arrival.
