A giant snakeskin found in Westbrook, Maine has many concerned about giant anacondas, lake monsters, and other cryptids in their small lake. As of now, there are no answers, but residents are being warned of the presence of a reptile of unusually large size.

The snake skin was found near the Presumpscot River where other sightings this summer have led to naming the creature "Wessie" or the Presumpscot Python.

Police have been searching for the reported 10-foot snake since June after a woman said she saw it near the playground at Westbrook's Riverbank Park. Since then, she has been seen several other times.

Westbrook Police Chief Janine Roberts said:

"Until the type of snake is determined and we can assess the safety risk, we caution people who recreate along the Presumpscot River to remain alert, maintain a safe distance from any wildlife, and report any sightings of the snake to the Westbrook Police Department."

Tales of giant snakes are not unique to Maine. These giant cryptids are rumored to be all over the world. Some even say Nessie herself might be a giant snake. Whatever this snake in Maine is, there isn't enough money in the world to make me jump in that river. Now let's see what happens when she's found.
