It's been featured in movies and TV shows about paranormal visions and experiences, but the slimy, disgusting residue left behind after a paranormal experience is not always named. It's called ectoplasm.

Considered by many to be part of paranormal lies attempting to convince people that they had seen a ghost, ectoplasm is widely debated.
