You'd think that most seasoned police officers have seen it all but when a few of Scotland's finest were called to a home in South Lanarkshire two days in a row in early August they were met with something they say they've never encountered in all their 20-years of field experience.

A mother and her son had been experiencing ghost activity in their home for some time and it wasn't until the activity ramped up to a violent degree that they became at a loss for what to do next. The mother phoned the police who, naturally, were expecting to arrive at the home and find a woman having some sort of a breakdown, but when they saw paranormal activity with their own eyes they couldn't help but believe that something otherworldly was going on. They claim to have witnessed clothing flying across the room, and the family dog (a Chihuahua) levitating on top of a bush.

Unexperienced with what to do in ghostly situations, Scottish police have reached out to the Catholic Church and they're currently looking into the matter.

"Officers with more than 20 years' service are saying they've never seen anything like this," news sources like Inquisitr are quoting. "It really is something that down-to-earth police officers are having trouble getting their heads round. How do you handle what, despite us not liking to use the word, has been described as a poltergeist?"

The mother and her son are currently living elsewhere and have not updated media as to whether or not they intend to return to the home anytime soon.
